Born in Sioux Falls, SD on Feb. 5, 1884, Grace Purdie was educated at the University of Wisconsin and the Art Institute of Chicago. After her marriage to Carl Moon in St Joseph, Missouri in 1911, the Moons settled in Pasadena in 1914.
She is known for her paintings of Indian children and several books on Indians which she wrote and illustrated with her husband. They include: Flaming Arrow, Painted Moccasin, Tah-Kee, Navajo Shepherd Boy, and Indians of the Southwest< (showing 500 of 745 characters). |
