| | Harding John McGuire was born in California on May 8, 1899. McGuire settled in San Francisco with his family shortly before the earthquake of 1906. A commercial artist in 1922, he then worked for 40 years as a lawyer and assistant district attorney. He died in San Francisco on April 22, 1970. | Source:
