Biography from AskART:

Born about 1890 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, he developed a life-long love of the sea. He graduated from Massachusetts Normal Art School and then studied with Albro T Hubbard. He painted on Cape Ann, Massachusetts where he became known for his quiet and effective help to artists and for his management of the finances of the Rockport Art Association. His seascapes give a sense of value of light and air in sea and sky.
