Born in 1889 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Harold Maddocks, a landscape and seascape painter, developed a life-long love of the sea. He was also active in arts groups, serving several in them significantly in organzational matters.
He graduated from Gloucester High School and then studied with Joseph De Camp. In 1910, Maddocks became a member of the Copley Society in Boston. He graduated in 1912 from Massachusetts Normal Art School where he had been a sculpture student o (showing 500 of 2078 characters). |
