| | Holly Amphion Markle was born in Long Point, IL on Dec. 30, 1881. Markle studied for three years at the AIC. He settled in Anaheim, CA in 1924 and worked there until the 1940s when he became a technical illustrator for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. Following the war he joined the art staff at the Long Beach Press Telegram where he remained until retirement in 1955.
