Hugo Matzenauer --graphic artist, painter, muralist-- was born in the town of Mohacs, Hungary on November 8, 1923. In 1946 he began studying in Budapest at Hungary's prestigious University of Fine Arts where he graduated in 1951. His teachers were Istvan Szonyi (1896-1960), Endre Domanovszky (1907-1974) and Jeno Barcsai (1900-1988). In 1956 he received a Rockefeller Fellowship grant whereupon he and his wife (also a recipient) moved to Vienna, Austria, for (showing 500 of 1331 characters). |
