| | Martin maintained a studio in Denver, CO for several years before moving to Reno, NV about 1909. There he eked out a meager living painting western scenery and prospecting; local residents called him the "Prospector Painter." His western genre includes landscapes of Lake Tahoe, Death Valley, as well as ranch and cattle scenes á la Frederic Remington. Penniless and half-starved, he commited suicide in Reno on July 16, 1919. | Source:
