J.P. Marsh (known by family as James Harvey Marsh), studied in the Herron Art School at the same time Wayman Adams, Simon P. Baus and Carl C. Mr. Marsh was employed in the art department of the Indiana Limestone Company of Bloomington.  In 1927, Mr. Marsh was represented with stone carving in the Hoosier Salon in Chicago.  During his two years residence in Bloomington, 300 of his paintings have been purchased by Bloomington people.  Among the exhibitions in which Mr. Marsh has been represented are Marshall Field picture galleries, New Orleans Art League, Arts and Crafts Club of New Orleans, Steele Memorial galleries in Bloomington and Southern Art League of Charlestown, S.C..  Among places where studios have been maintained at different times are St. Peter, St. Vitus Carre, New Orleans, LA., Annapolis, MD., New York City and Bloomington."1
