James Mateer earned an art degree in art illustration from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a BA and MA in art education from Case Western Reserve University. Mateer worked as a high school art teacher and an adjunct professor of art at Baldwin-Wallace College near Cleveland, Ohio.
After a career of working with a variety of art media Mateer found colored pencils to perfectly suit his way of working. Mateer creates highly detailed focused studies of natural patterns such as bees in a ho (showing 500 of 710 characters). |
