Santa Barbara artist James McMenamin is noted for his paintings that draw inspiration from myth, dream states, faces, and animals. His work is both figurative and non-figurative, and in it physical objects may merge without defined barriers.
McMenamin was born in Portland, Oregon, and later studied at the University of Oregon, at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris, and Columbia University in New York. For many years he taught painting, drawing, design, ceramics, and art history at various in (showing 500 of 1093 characters). |
