The following biographical information has been provided by Janet Noll Naumer, owner of a Meek painting, and comes from a Gallery A (Taos, New Mexico) brochure featuring James Meek. Southwestern artist James Meek was an active member of the Taos, New Mexico art colony. Known for his abstract oil paintings, he spent his summers in Taos beginning in 1958 and in 1961 resigned an administration position with the Rocky Ford, CO public schools to move to Taos and devote full time to (showing 500 of 1675 characters). |
