The following information was submitted in August of 2006 by the artist:My name is Jim Miller. I have a gallery in Carmel, California, the oldest artist owned gallery in Carmel, started in 1979. I have been a fine artist for the past 30 years. I was selected for the cover of the Artist magazine and a 6 page article and featured artist in the center section of Herald Newspaper. I have shown in galleries in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Solvang, Beverly Hills, Palm Springs and Carmel. I have a painting in the White House Collection, 8 in the Wells Fargo permanent collection, several in the Air Force Art Collection, along with private collections in the United States, Asia and Europe. My work has been used as prizes on the Wheel of Fortune TV show.
I have two degrees in art. One from CSULA and another from the Art Center College of Design where I studied on a scholarship. I have a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators in New York City. I was a commercial artist for 14 years, working on local, national and international projects for advertising agencies in Los Angeles. I did art for all the print media and some TV commercials. My clients ranged from Road and Track, Magic Mountain, Toyota, 4 different banks, to Dodger billboards, a lot of work of movie posters, and the complete educational program for Hoffman Electronics. I also worked on point of purchase for many companies, ads in a variety of magazines, and TV commercials.
I was president of the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles from 1972-1973. I was involved in the Air Force Art program and the Sheriffs art program of Los Angeles.
