Jivantoro Mentis' was born in New York City in 1916. During the past 50 years Mentis' has attended Ecole' de Beaux Arts in Paris, The American School in Biarritz, France, Pratt Institute in New York, Southern Connecticut State University and The University of New Haven,CT. He earned a Masters of Science degree in Art Education, produced his own art workshops for public television,
and was nominated into the Fraternal Royal Society of the Arts in London (F.R.S.A.)
