The following information is from Ben Kozlovsky, Sr., and Doug McDaniel. Kozlovsky provided the image of the painting by John Maxwell titled The Execution of Nathan Hale.
When John Maxwell died, a Johnson City, Tennessee Press Chronicle reporter wrote in 1984 that he was "a consummate artist and illustrator. The Johnson Citian climbed to fame on the basis of his pens and brushes nearly 60 years ago--with illustrations appearing in such national publications as < (showing 500 of 3478 characters). |
