Born in Cleveland, Ohio, John Moore does painting on canvas that is improvisational, mostly geometric shapes of clusters of ovals involving a process of painting, scraping, re painting, and blending colors of a restricted palette of shades of black, gray, white, red, and blue. He has also done lithographs.
He began taking art lessons as a junior-high age student at the Cleveland Museum of Art. After high school, he served in the US Army and in 1962 took a job for the next eleven years wit (showing 500 of 1296 characters). |
