| John Mason was born in Madrid, Nebraska in 1927. Mason settled in Los Angeles in 1949 and studied at Chouinard and Otis Art Institutes. He taught at UC Irvine in the 1960s and 1970s. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
Exhibited: Pasadena Museum, 1960 (solo); Art Institute of Chicago, 1964; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 1966 (solo); Pasadena Museum, 1974 (retrospective); many others.
Works held: San Francisco Museum; Los Angeles County Museum; Art Institute of Chicago.
