| | John Stark Melville was born in Glasgow, Scotland on Dec. 15, 1865. Melville came to the U.S. in 1913 to work for Tiffany Studios in NYC. In 1922 he moved to Los Angeles where he worked for Judson Studios in Highland Park. He died in Pasadena on March 12, 1946. | Source:
