Born in 1943 in Bucyrus, Ohio, Judith S. Miller grew up in Toledo and had her first art classes at the Toledo Museum of Art as a child. She enrolled as an art major at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh but took time out for several years of travel before moving to California in the early 1960s and resuming her art studies. She moved to New York City in 1979, where she lives and works in Lower Manhattan.
