| Julia Elizabeth Wright Manson was born in England on March 2, 1880. Julia Wright appears to have come to San Francisco at the turn of the century. She studied art at the Mark Hopkins Institute, married, and in 1916 moved across the bay to Berkeley. Specializing in redwood scenes, she painted landscapes of northern California. Mrs. Manson died at her home in Berkeley on March 5, 1960.
