| Katherine Heilner MacDonald was born in Brooklyn, NY on Nov. 30, 1882, the daughter of Rear Admiral Lewis C. Heilner. Katherine studied under Arthur Dow at the Pratt Institute and at the Federal Art School in Minneapolis. Watercolor and charcoal were her media until 1927; she then concentrated on linoleum block prints. By 1932 she had married and moved to southern California as a resident of Coronado. In 1945 she moved north to Burlingame where she remained until her deat (showing 500 of 848 characters). |
