Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky was noted 19th Century Russian
artist. In 1858, he entered the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint
Petersburg. By the 1880's he had become famed for his portraits and
historical paintings.
Alexander II, 1881 is amoung his portraits.
Konstantin was killed in his horse-driven carriage in 1915 when it was
hit by an electric tram.
