|  Born in San Francisco, CA on Nov. 12, 1895. Leonide began drawing at age eight while attending public schools. At age 15 she studied art at the San Francisco Institute of Art and continued for two years at Académie Julian in Paris. She married attorney Renato Capocelli in 1914 and established a home in Pacific Heights where she maintained a studio. Working in oil and watercolor, she was a skilled painter of still lifes, landscapes, scenes of San Francisco and from her European travels. A lifelong resident of her native city, she died on Feb. 24, 1992. Exh: Palace of Fine Arts, 1916; SFAA from 1916; SWA, CPLH, 1941, 1945. | Source:
