| Lewis Sayre Mace was born in Maine on Dec. 20, 1870. Educated at the New York College of Medicine, Mace came to California and set up a medical practice in Los Gatos. In his leisure he became a competent landscape painter. He died in Los Gatos on July 14, 1951.
