This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Referred to as "a passionate sculptor in the grand tradition," he has life-size bronze family groups in public places in Michigan. His realistic figure work reflects his commitment to clear, forceful expression with an affinity to classical art. The son of a laborer, he was raised in a tough Philadelphia neighborhood where he and his friends crawled around on the wall of the Rodin Museum. He took night classes and attended the Philadelphia College of Art and Design and was much influenced by Walter Erlebacher. He went to Yale University graduate school. His studio is in Petersburg, Michigan.
