| From Syracuse, New York, Mary McMillan was an early 20th century painter whose specialty was miniatures. She studied at Syracuse University and Smith College with Mabel Welch and Howard Giles, and in 1941 received an honarary degree from Smith. Memberships included the National Association of Women Artists, League of American Pen Women and the Syracuse Art Association.
Work by McMillan is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Boston Museum, Pennsylvania Academy and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
