Maud (Maude) Mathewson (Matthewson) was a teacher and artist in Detroit, 1893-1897. She was also the Director of the Detroit School of Art. She painted mostly studies of figures in oil and watercolor.
She was a pupil and member of the Art Students League, New York. She began her studies there in October of 1889, continuing through May of 1892. She exhibited in the Detroit area and at the Cleveland Art Club.
