This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Russian born, Maurice Molarsky was a figure, portrait, and still-life painter in classical* style.  He also did an occasional marine scene.

Molarsky settled in Philadelphia where he was a student at the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art.  He also studied in France and England and the Philadelphia Art Alliance.  Molarsky was a fellow of the Pennsylvania Academy and a member of the Allied Artists of America. 

Exhibition venues included the Pennsylvania Academy*, Corcoran Gallery Biennials, Pan-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco in 1915*, and the Philadelphia Sketch Club*.

The following biographical information was submitted by Mona Molarsky, great niece of the artist.  Her source is the library of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

Student Record: 1899-1904, and 1906-10

Student Prizes: Thouron Prize for Composition, 1903; Cresson Travel Scholarship, 1904 (letters written during his European trip are in the file for ’05)
 
Summary of exhibition record:  Annual Exhibitions of Oils and Sculpture, frequently between 1904 and 1950 (see list of titles in Falk work below); one-man show at PAFA, 1946.
 
Exhibition Prizes: Fellowship Prize, 1909 (purchase of a work by the alumni fellowship)
