| | May Frances McAlpine was born in Minnesota on Sept. 29, 1887. By 1913 May McAlpine was a resident of San Diego and active as an artist. She studied at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. By 1926 she had married Wm Durr and had settled in San Pedro, CA. She died there on Nov. 7, 1955. | Source:
