Living in California and born in China, Michael Mao is a figure painter
who has shown talent since childhood in Shanghai. However, when
he pursued his higher education at Tonghi University in Shanghai, he
studied engineering and architecture and worked for an international
firm. Also, becoming interested in animation, he took a degree in
that area, and was hired by IBM Corporation as a visual artist, having
moved to the United States in 1992.
