The following, submitted February 2005, is from Jim Tollefson who found the information in a note attached to the frame of a painting, "Hong Kong Harbor" by Michele Michaux.
Born in Paris in 1927, she studied with Monsieur Dargouges ( Prix de Rome ). There she received purely academic training and was taught to use charcoals, and to draw plasters, as well as to work from live models.
She also took a course at the Beaux Arts in the engraving section. Her first exhibition was at a book shop opposite the Luxemburg Gardens. She has exhibited in the top galleries of Paris since 1952. |
