This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Los Angeles, California, Menasco became a painter of equestrian subject, after working in Los Angeles and having a successful career in New York City with an advertising agency.

He moved to Kentucky in 1948 and was there for the remainder of his life, dying in 1974. He earned a reputation for being able to depict accurately the anatomy of horses and for showing them in natural stances and attitudes. Many of his paintings had backgrounds of horse farms.

Among his collectors John Hay Whitney, Mrs. Isabel Dodge Sloane and Mrs. Richard DuPont.
