| Myrtle Hill McQuarrie was born in Sacramento, CA on Oct. 4, 1887. Myrtle Hill settled in Oakland with her family at an early age. She graduated from the California College of Arts & Crafts and was a teacher for six years at the Berkeley School for the Blind. During the WWI years she painted murals for theaters and clubs in the San Francisco Bay area. Her second marriage was to Carl Thomsen in 1926. She died in San Leandro, CA on Nov. 9, 1966.
