Born in Hells Kitchen of New York City, Nicholas Macchio is a painter in contemporary realist style of portraits and cityscapes. In 2002, he created an image of the collapse of the Twin Towers called "Home of the Brave," a celebration of the bravery of the rescue workers. Reproductions of this work will hang in the offices of the Fire and Police Commissioners. His portrait subjects include Frank Sinatra, the Rat Pack, and Brigitte Bardot.
