A member of the famous "Beatles" music group, Paul McCartney started painting in the mid-1980s after he met Willem de Kooning. In November, 2000, a special exhibition of his paintings, not for sale, was held at the New York's Matthew Marks Gallery to benefit cancer research.
In 1966, McCartney met art gallery-owner Robert Fraser, whose flat was visited by many well-known artists. McCartney met Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Peter Blake, and Richard Hamilton there, and learned about art app (showing 500 of 2193 characters). |
