| Paul Moro was born in Bettola, Italy, and attended the Scuola delle Belle Arte in Rome. He emigrated to New York in 1909 and worked as a copyist of Barbizon paintings, which were in vogue with collectors at the time. He subsequently went to work for a painting restorer and eventually opened his own conservation studio.Moro moved to the Bronx in 1915 and frequently painted landscapes in the vicinity of the Bronx Zoo and the Botanical Gardens. In 1925 he and his family moved to Peekskill, New Yor (showing 500 of 1122 characters). |
