Perry M. McNeely was born in Lebo, KS on Dec. 10, 1886. McNeely was educated in St Louis and founded an advertising agency there while freelancing as an artist. Moving to Los Angeles in 1920, he became art director for Bates, Harrison & Janes Advertising Agency.

As one of the organizers of the Academy of Western Painters (1932), he exhibited there and locally. McNeely spent his leisure in the nearby deserts where he derived much of his subject matter. During his later years he worked in the art department of Douglas Aircraft. He died on Jan. 27, 1966 in Yucca Valley, CA.

Educated in St. Louis and founded an advertising agency there while freelancing as an artist. Moved to Los Angeles in 1920 where he became Art Director for Bates, Harrison and Janes Advertising Agency. From Los Angeles, Perry McNeely was a self-taught landscape painter. He was President of the Academy of Western Painters and a member of the Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles, where he exhibited from the 1920s through 1940s.

He was born in Lebo, Kansas, and became the founder of an advertising agency in St. Louis and the Art Director of Bates, Harrison and Janes Advertising Agency in Los Angeles.
