Regis Talavera McCarthy was born in San Francisco, CA on May 13, 1885. McCarthy was a pupil of L. P. Latimer at the Mark Hopkins Institute. She was the sister of artist Ruth McCarthy and a resident of her native city until her death on Feb. 7, 1963.
