| Richard A. Myer was born in New York City in 1933. Myer earned his BA degree at Brigham Young University where he later became an instructor. He then returned to New York to further study at the Art Students League and the Sculpture Center. He was art director for Jas. H. Matthews until 1970 when he moved to California and began his professional career as a full-time sculptor. He was commissioned to sculpt the marker for John Wayne’s grave in Newport, CA and is currently working on a large sculpture of Frank Miller, founder of the Mission Inn in Riverside, CA.
