| Roma Mallett was born in Bingham, UT on May 21, 1905. Mallett studied with Alexander Archipenko and Rudolph Schaeffer in San Francisco. About 1931 she moved to Los Angeles. She further studied at the Chouinard School of Art and by 1933 was an instructor there. She was active in the local art scene and director of art at Westlake School for Girls and Holmby College (1936-38). She later lived in San Mateo, CA as the wife of Karl Bauer until her death on Jan. 14, 1985.
