| Ruth Ligouri McCarthy was born in San Francisco, CA on March 4, 1882. After graduating from San Francisco Girls High School, McCarthy studied art at the Mark Hopkins Institute under Lorenzo P. Latimer. A lifelong resident of her native city, she died on Oct. 14, 1965.
