| | Born in Nara, Japan on Jan. 1, 1912. Miyasaki was educated and studied art in Japan before immigrating to Seattle, WA in 1927. He soon came to California where he worked as a migrant farm laborer. He did artwork but was penniless and often in jail due to his involvement with the communist labor movement. He died of tuberculosis in San Francisco on Oct. 7, 1940.
