Born in 1926, Maurer became an assistant art director at Columbia Records in New York City, designing album covers and promotional material for popular artists. For a while, Andy Warhol was his colleague, and when Andy left, Maurer continued to expand his commercial drawing, working for the music industry.
In the mid-sixties his paintings began to appear in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, and Paris, France, and in the early nineties he decided to fully devote his t (showing 500 of 1687 characters). |
