A Rhode Island portrait, landscape, and still-life painter and educator, Stephen Macomber was both a student and teacher at the Rhode Island School of Design*. In 1947, he was given the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the School. He also studied at the Hans Hoffman School of Art* in New York City.
In the 1950s, he served in the Rhode Island state senate. He lived in Providence and Westerley.
Memberships included the Providence Art Club, and the Mystic Art Associa (showing 500 of 5517 characters). |
