Sterling L. Moak was born on March 13, 1908. He is well known as an impressionist painter of Southern California desert landscapes. After leaving Illinois he settled in the Palm Springs, California area.

In addition to his painting, Moak was an instructor in watercolor and oil painting in Palm Desert, California during the 1960's. While in that area he was an artist member of the Desert Art Center.

Moak died in Fallbrook, California on December 21, 1979.

Born in Illinois on March 13, 1908. Moak was a long-time resident of Palm Desert. His work includes desert landscapes of the area around his home. He died in San Diego on Dec. 21, 1979. Exh: Laguna Beach AA, 1963.
