The second son of sculptor Clark Mills, Theophilus Mills became a sculptor.  He studied at the Royal Academy in Munich from 1860 to 1865, and then returned to work with his father and brother, Theodore, at the foundry and studio established by Clark Mills at Bladensburg Road.  Six weeks before Lincoln's assassination, he worked with his father and brother to make two life masks of Abraham Lincoln. After that, Theophilus completed a death mask of Jack Lincoln, grandson of Mary and Abrah (showing 500 of 1007 characters).
