| Encouraged to be an artist by parents who were art professionals, Tom
Matt became a pastel painter of architectural structures, especially in
New
York City, and of portraits and figures. Expanding from
figurative and portrait work, Matt began incorporating newsprint into
his "canvas", and by spring 2006 had made a series of about 28
cityscapes of Manhattan views on the front pages of New York
newspapers. Headlines and copy are in the background and done
with the idea of showi (showing 500 of 1447 characters). |
