| | Virginia Clemans Merrill was born in Snohomish, WA on Feb. 12, 1910. Virginia spent her childhood in the Cascade Mountains before moving with her family to Palo Alto, CA. In 1935 she married Charles H. Merrill, a member of a California pioneer family, and settled in Sausalito on San Francisco Bay. She died there on Oct. 20, 1996. | Source:
