William J. McClanahan, born in Greenville, Texas, was raised in San Angelo and Dallas, where he would settle after high school. Once enrolled as an engineering student at Southern Methodist University, McClanahan dropped out to attend the Dallas Art Institute with hopes of becoming a commercial artist.
During that time, McClanahan began his newspaper career as a weekend sportswriter for The Dallas Morning News when a friend asked for such help. McClanahan then held a number of spor (showing 500 of 2250 characters). |
