| | Winifred G. McGill was born in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada on Nov. 14, 1878. McGill moved to San Francisco in 1928 and worked on the Public Works of Art Project in 1934. She later taught English at UC Berkeley. A spinster, she died there on June 21, 1937. | Source:
