Barbara Neville, an impressionist and traditional artist, is a native of Wilmington, Delaware where she currently resides. She attended the University of Delaware and Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, PA and has worked and studied with various artists including Domenic DiStephano, Tom Bostell, Henry Meier, Carolyn Anderson and Janet Hammond. However, Barbara has been most influenced by Chadds Ford artist Rea Redifer, and her work with Charles Reid greatly influenced her development with use of color and sense of composition.
Barbara has exhibited in numerous shows in the Delaware Valley and has paintings in collections throughout the United States. A member of the Delaware Foundation of Visual Arts (DFVA) and the Chester County Art Association, she has won awards in various juried shows, including the prestigious Zimmerman Award at the Philadelphia Water Color Club. In 1994 Barbara was accepted in the Pastel Society of America's Annual juried show in New York and received the Pastel Society of North Florida award.
In April of 1996, she created a series of note cards for Longwood Gardens located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. This venture was so successful that she launched a full scale note card business that incorporated her art into a form that reached a national audience.
