| Born in California on April 14, 1891. Neil was teaching in California public schools before 1915. In 1919 he returned to San Francisco, having served in the camouflage section of the Army during WWI. By 1933 he had moved to southern California and settled in Sunset Beach. He died in Los Angeles on December 2, 1946.
